18 Things I'm Thankful For This Thanksgiving
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 8:22PM What's there not to be thankful for? Barack Obama leads this incredibly powerful country, the Los Angeles Lakers continue to dominate the NBA, and Starbucks' Peppermint Mochas are back on the menu.
Thanksgiving is a holiday nominally devoted to counting one’s blessings. This year, Pinch My Saffron is particularly thankful for the tremendous support from everyone that has been reading the blog as a reference to quick, easy, and delicious Persian & Mediterranean recipes. Thank you all!

I'm also thankful for...
1. My beautiful, healthy family and dear friends that continue to inspire me.
2. All the complaining I hear about our government because it means we have freedom of speech in America.
3. I'm thankful and thrilled that my brother and sister like my cooking.
4. Sharing my mother's passion for cooking. And, that I used to stand beside her in the kitchen and watch, help and learn from her. Thanks, Mom!
5. I'm grateful to Huffington Post blogger, community activist and friend, 2morrowknight for his continued support and for featuring Pinch My Saffron in our first interview publication.
6. I'm thankful for Thomas Keller's latest cookbook, Ad Hoc at Home. And, for his 200 delicious recipes that are all doable at home.
7. I'm thankful when my beautiful niece puts her arms out for me to hold her. And, for her sweet smile that lights up the room. :)
8. I'm thankful for Ali Sabet's profound talent in branding, identity, and strategy and the fantastic job he has done with our site layout and cool logo design.
9. My adventures in Southeast Asia and exploring the magical Great Wall.
10. I'm thankful for each and every one of Willie Jackson's brilliant tips on making us "findable" out in Cyberspace.
11. I'm thankful to these Awesome Chefs & Foodies on Twitter who have inspired me to enter this vast, but friendly world of food blogging.
12. Reconnecting with my dear friend, Ellie Sadeghi on Facebook - after a 10-year hiatus.
13. I'm thankful and relieved that Alireza Alavian will be taking over in the photography department for my blog and upcoming cookbook.
14. I'm thankful for people who are willing to give of themselves to help others, with no expectation of reward. You guys rock!
15. I'm thankful to be alive to witness the presidency of Barack Obama. And, I'm especially grateful that the rest of the world is ready to give us a new start, a second chance to reclaim our place in the world because of his unsurmountable acts of kindness.
16. The mess I have to clean up after a dinner party because it means I have been surrounded by dear friends and loved ones.
17. I'm thankful to work for myself which gives me the opportunity to pursue my passion and meet fascinating people along the way.
18. I'm thankful that authoring this blog has given me the opportunity to meet and greet all of you. Thank you!
Now, what are you thankful for?
